Karen Nolan FCCA

Position: Partner

Qualifications: A Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) who qualified in 1999.

Experience:  Karen trained at Moores Rowlands Manchester office (now Hacker Young) and then qualified at an independent 4 partner practice in the Peak District, where she then became a partner. After moving to Poynton she became an associate of Appletons Chartered Accountants.

Since 1989 Karen has developed a wealth of knowledge in general practice from audits of large multi national companies to the personal tax affairs of high wealth individuals. She specialises in small and medium sized owner managed businesses.

Outside the Office: Karen has a young family and loves to spend quality time on adventures out; She has two active young boys which keep her busy!

A keen swimmer, Karen also enjoys visiting her local gym.

Ruth James BSc FCA

Position: Partner

Qualifications:  A fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales  (FCA). Qualified in 1992.

Experience:  Ruth trained with a medium sized independent practice in the West Midlands. Following qualification she moved to Haworths Chartered Accountants based in East Lancashire where she was a manager for nine years before returning to Poynton joining Appletons where she was an Associate of the practice.

During this time Ruth has gained considerable general practice experience with a diverse range of clients both in terms of size and business sector, specialising in small and medium owner managed and family run businesses.

Outside the office:  Ruth enjoys spending time with her family; having three young daughters life is never quiet!  She is also a keen member of the local gym & enjoys swimming. As a qualified swimming teacher she often helps out at her local swimming club.
